Managing Large Data Tables

Having only a few minutes for search information, a user most probably closes a website that slows down or if there is content that is loaded too slowly.  That’s why PubyDoc Data Table and Charts plugin’s devs understand the importance of speed optimization and how it influences website rating.

There are many website owners using the Data Table WordPress plugin for building tables with a large amount of information contacting thousands of rows and cells. However, such big tables can sometimes lead to loading problems. That’s why there is a useful built-in option Server-processing option for solving the issues with enormous data sets up to millions of rows.

You’d probably wonder how it saves speed. If this option is on, the content won’t be output to the frontend but will be stored on a server until a user needs it.  For example, there is pagination which divides a table into several pars so that when a user visits a page with a big table the script uploads only the data from the first pagination page to a user’s browser because right at the moment a user needs only this piece of table. When jumping to the 5th pagination page, only data from that page will be loaded. Or if a user does a search, the server will make data selection, sort results in the right order, and pick just needed for displaying the number of rows and will return it to the browser.

So that when a person moves through the pages, he/she will see the data from the particular pages and there is no need to load all the tables content which is stored on the server thus saving load time.
